John, a lifelong
resident of southern middle Tennessee, lives in
Manchester, Coffee County with
fiancé, Sandra. Daughter Patricia and
husband Mark reside in Murfreesboro with
their children, Caleb, Ashton and Seth.
John graduated
from UT Knoxville with a BS in Business.
He then joined the Army Reserve, where he served
a total of 9 years, including serving 6 years in
the 212 Transportation Unit of Tullahoma. John
was promoted to the rank of
Sergeant First Class
and was assigned as the Operational Sergeant at
the USAR
School in Chattanooga during his final 3 years
of service.
Shortly after
his release from the Army Reserve, John started
Greeter Building Center, Inc. and Greeter Ready
Mix Co. in Monteagle, TN.
John is an executive committee member of the
Tennessee Workforce and Development Board where
he sees firsthand the importance of improving
high school and college graduation rates and
recruiting high-tech jobs.
John is a board member for the Elk River Public
Utilities District and is a member of Arnold
Engineering Community Council, Coffee County
Industrial Board, UTSI Support Council, Coffee
County UT Alumni Association, Coffee County Farm
Bureau, American Legion Post 78 in Manchester,
Rotary Club of Manchester and Manchester,
Tullahoma, and McMinnville/Warren County
chambers of commerce.
John and Sandra
attend Christ Episcopal Church of Tracy City.
